Pievescola

Pievescola is a mountain village, behind the Montagnola Senese, not far from the river Elsa. The whole country is not old, the majority of houses along the road, while at the centre of the church. Sources are tracing the ancient name of Pievescola from "Pieve to scolam", implying the presence of a school singing or letters circulated at Longobarda. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist, like many sacred buildings in the area and it is a parish church, built for the "people" that is for the people.
